Carpenter I

The Carpenter I is responsible for assisting in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This entry-level position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions while working alongside experienced carpenters. The Carpenter I will be expected to perform a variety of tasks in various settings, including residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials according to specifications
• Support skilled carpenters in the assembly and installation of structures, frameworks, and fixtures
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as directed
• Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
• Help in the loading and unloading of materials and tools for various projects

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced carpenters
